Terms & Conditions

By participating in the International Computing Olympiad (the "Competition"), presented by Qubits, you (the "Participant") agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern your participation in the Competition, and it is important that you read them carefully.

Eligibility

  1. Age Requirements: Only school students aged 6 to 19 years are eligible to participate in this Competition.

  2. Team Requirements: Participants may enter as individuals or teams. All members of the team must meet the age requirement.

 

Entry Fee

  1. Fee: An entry fee of USD 50 per team must be paid at the time of registration. Registration fees are non-transferable to other events or participants.

  2. Payment Methods: Accepted payment methods include credit cards, UPI, and bank transfers.

 

Refund Policy

  1. Full refund: A full refund will be issued if the application is made within one week of registration.

  2. No refund after project submission: Refunds will not be provided once the project has been submitted.

  3. Special cases: In cases involving medical issues, refunds may be considered upon receipt of valid supporting documents.

  4. Eligibility: Only mentors are eligible to apply for refunds.

  5. Processing time: Refunds will be processed within 30 business days after the application is received.

 

Prizes

  1. Awarding of Prizes: Winning teams will receive prizes as per the published prize list. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or other forms of compensation.

  2. Delivery of Prizes: Prizes will be shared with the winners online or via courier/post. The organizers are not responsible for delays or issues caused by third-party courier services.

  3. Tax Obligations: Winners are responsible for any tax liabilities associated with their prizes in accordance with their country’s tax laws.

 

Intellectual Property

  1. Ownership of Submissions: Participants retain full ownership of their projects, including all materials (e.g., presentations, code, videos) submitted to the Competition.

  2. License to Use: By entering the Competition, participants grant Qubits and its partners a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute their submissions for promotional and educational purposes, with appropriate credit given to the creators.

 

Content Guidelines

  1. Original Work: All projects must be original and created by the team. Plagiarism, including copying or closely imitating another person's work, is strictly prohibited.

  2. Use of Online Resources: Teams may use online resources for research but must not copy entire solutions or excessively rely on online tutorials without making significant modifications or improvements to the work.

 

Conduct and Behavior

  1. Misconduct: Teams or participants found engaging in misconduct—including but not limited to cheating, plagiarism, or any unethical behavior—will be disqualified from the Competition.

  2. Inappropriate Content: Any content that promotes or contains violence, bullying, discrimination, illegal activity, bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity will be removed, and the associated participant or team may be disqualified.

  3. Impersonation: Falsely impersonating any Qubits employee, agent, host, or any other person associated with the Competition is strictly prohibited.

 

Non-Discrimination Policy

Qubits is committed to creating an inclusive environment and prohibits discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, ancestry, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or parental status, or veteran status in all of its programs and activities.

 

Participant Responsibilities

  1. Accurate Information: Participants must provide accurate and truthful information when registering and submitting their projects. Providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification.

  2. Compliance with Laws: Participants must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations in their respective countries.

  3. Intellectual Property Protection: It is the sole responsibility of the participant to ensure their intellectual property is protected. Before disclosing any innovations, participants are advised to consult their country’s patent laws.

 

Travel and Accommodations

  1. Travel Arrangements: If the Competition involves any in-person events, participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Qubits is not liable for any travel-related expenses or issues.

 

Modification of Terms

  1. Changes to Rules: The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules, competition schedule, and other terms at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated to participants in advance.

  2. Updates to Terms and Conditions: Qubits reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. Participants will be notified of any material changes via email.

 

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  1. Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Qubits is registered.

  2. Dispute Resolution: In the event of any disputes, participants agree to resolve the issue through amicable negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the Qubits' registered jurisdiction.

By registering for the Competition, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
